Specialized training and background: My work as a pediatric end-of-life doula is grounded in years of experience as an inpatient pediatric RN at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, working directly with seriously ill children and their families in clinical settings. I understand the medical landscape, communicate fluently with care teams, and have been present with families in some of their most difficult moments. All doula and grief services offered here are non-medical and complementary to — not a replacement for — your child’s medical or hospice care team. In addition to my nursing background, I also carry a certificate from the University of Vermont’s Pediatric End-of-Life Doula Specialist program. This work lives at the intersection of my professional experience and my own personal relationship with grief and loss, losing a close friend to cancer at age eleven.
